((yeeeeeah sort of a little inrtoduction and explination to this little mysetrious planet^^ ))
Everyone who lives in Zion, knows that going out to explore Messaline is the same as committing suicide. The planet may be small and peaceful, with friendly inhabitants (mostly), but not as safe as many would think of it. That’s why most of them stayed in their little town, safe from trouble and away from the wastelands. Most of the planet was covered with water anyway, the ocean, which everyone was smart enough to fear. At least most of them were… Those brave enough (or more like stupid) who dared to go out to fish or prove how stupidly brave they were, never came back again. Really, you would’ve thought that after these hundreds years of being locked in on this place you would’ve learned the ocean’s habitants does not like visitors.
But Messlaine has its nice things as well. For being so small, it’s still leaves a big part left to run around freely without any worries. It’s a damn planet after all… As long as one stayed close to Zion, one really had nothing to fear. The river for example, was safe as could be. With no mean water-shape shifting carnivore who tries to eat you. Only nice fresh, color changing water with all the fish in all different sizes, colors, shapes and taste you could feast on.
Basically, there’s nothing on land you need to fear, all the living things around the forest are pretty friendly and harmless. Of course, there will always be some people who are not as friendly like the cute fluffy animals, no matter what species they may be.
Back to Zion, and the lovely garden we have there. Beautiful place really, magical one could call it, especially at night when those certain flowers would bloom and light up the whole place, reaching up towards our two moons. Better still be careful though, some of the plants have a serious bad attitude, with the habit of biting of passerby’s cloths.
…like my cape…. My favorite one…. Stupid flowers…
Still though, if you find the right one and have the knowledge, you’ll make some pretty decent medicine. But take too much or the wrong one, you can go crazy- Heard that one time someone thought he was a woman, and started to dress in his sister cloths and flirted with everything he thought was a man. And then that one running through the whole town screaming he saw someone called ‘Jesus’, whoever the hell that was supposed to be. Pfft, humans and their idols.
I should try tricking Cale to take one of those things.
Ever wondered about those mountains in the west? They’re literally like a giant maze made out of rocks. I know that no one can live there, and as soon as you walk inside and turn into a corner, you’ll be lost forever.
There’s this common fairy tale amongst us in Zion though, that if you manage to somehow find a way up to the top of the mountain that reaches above the clouds, you’ll find the floating old castle. And then of course the typical find the treasure that’s hidden there somewhere. Now too bad there’s always a storm at just that spot is it? Ha. Fairy tales.
Speaking of storms, the weather here can get pretty crazy if you ask everyone else. I don’t see what the big deal is. They usually complains about how it can be too damn cold and hot to the extreme. Is not that bad, I never felt any difficulties with it. Even though it can get pretty annoying when the whole forest freezes into one giant ice sculpture, or when the things randomly catches fire.
Back to the wastelands, where my stupid brothers decided to go a couple years ago to explore, and obviously haven’t gotten back yet. The ocean isn’t to blame for that though, more the old ruins…Because that where they were headed, to find out more about our ‘great’ and ‘powerful’ ancestors. Yeah, ‘powerful’ right, they died out without any logical explanation. ‘Great’ isn’t a word I would use to describe them with.
Back to those idiots, they never came back and left me alone with our mother who can barely even stand on her own. Assholes. So apparently the never found out anything, something found them instead. No one has dared to try and find out what’s hiding amongst those old, abandoned rocks.
Small planet, big secrets. Even we, the people who’s lived their whole life on Messaline doesn’t know that much about our home. Not many cares about it anyway, only very few, who often could be found in this amazing library.
It usually creeps people out to go in there, mainly beaucse it’s like a miniature of Messlaien itself. Small and boring on the outside, bigger and lots of secrets on the inside. Even traps, which I swear was not me who had planted them there, most of the time. It’s a pain though whenever me or Meg has to go and find lost customers the whole time and-
“-someone got lost again.”
The scribbling stopped, and an annoyed gaze turned to look at the woman who had just spoken, whose nose was buried in a fat book. “It’s Meg’s turn,” the boy mumbled, and concentrated on his writing again.
He merely moved his head to the side when a book came flying at him, barely missing the back of his head.
“Bullshit, stop it with your magic trick and go get the poor old man out!” Meg muttered, walking up to the other two with a scowl on her face. She watched the pen move swiftly back and forth on the paper by itself, and then at boy’s concentrated face. She would’ve given him a compliment for getting better at it, if he hadn’t decided to ignore her.
“Belle,” she whined to the other girl. “We’ve lost Loki, again, say something to snap him out of it.”
Belle sighed to herself, eyes still not leaving the book. “You’ll receive a kiss,” she began and the pen stopped moving. “…from Meg.”
Loki was out of the chair before she finished the sentence. Meg blinked, staring at the now empty chair before chuckling to herself. “Thanks, you’re a life saver. Now I can go visit the garage,” she said happily and moved to the doors. “You can kiss him for me~” she waved goodbye and left right before Loki came back, dragging the old man behind him who looked scared to death.
“Yeah ok, have a nice day and try not get a heart attack when you see a book, the shock will be pass, bye!” he said hurriedly before shoving the man gently outside. He turned, face blank as he noticed one of the girls were unsurprisingly missing.
“…she went to see Cale didn’t she.” That was not a question, it was a statement.
“Eeyup,” Belle replied, eyes still glued to page. Loki hung his head, disappointed but not surprised, and slunk down to his seat again.
“What does she see in him anyway?” he pouted.
“Well for starters, he’s got a fit body-“
“Ok, never mind!”
Belle chuckled behind her book, and saw Loki as about to throw some witty comment back at her but was interuppted by a sudden white light. They both turned to look out at the window, not really concerned, like the rest of the towns people walking by, as they looked up at the dark night sky.
“Ah how unfortunate,” Loki said blankly. “A star just died.”
“You’re so cold Loki,” Belle rolled her eyes, and went back to her book.
It’s not something that hadn’t happened before, they were still always safe in this little corner of the universe after all. That’s what they were thinking, until they heard another loud boom, and something that sounded like a crash. And then anouther one.
